Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors should refer to ASRI: Journal of Community Service for format and writing style (Please download and use as a template for initial manuscript submission). Papers that do not meet the requirements under the author guidelines will not be processed.

Communication regarding manuscript revisions and final statements will be made via email to the corresponding authors only. If there are more than one author, the authors' names must be written separately with a comma (,). If the author's name consists of two words, the first name cannot be abbreviated. If the author's name is only one word, it should be written clearly. However, in the online version it will be written in two words with the same name repeatedly for metadata indexing purposes.

Manuscript General Guidelines

General guidelines for scripts are as follows:

  1. The submitted manuscript is a manuscript that has never been published in other publication media or publishers.
  2. The manuscript does not contain elements of plagiarism. The editorial board will immediately reject texts that show plagiarism.
  3. Manuscripts that have been written under the guidance of ASRI: Community Service Journal (in MS Word format) must be submitted through the Online Submission System using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the ASRI portal: Community Service Journal. (https://journal.orange-institute.org/index.php/asri/index) select one of the procedures. Then, register as an author in the "Register" section.
  4. Templates and script writing guide are available in MS Word format (.doc) and can be downloaded here.
  5. Manuscripts that are not relevant to ASRI's writing guidelines: Journal of Community Service will be returned to the author prior to the review process.
  6. Manuscripts must contain several aspects of scientific articles in the following order: (a) title, (b) author's name (without academic degree), (c) author's institution, (d) author's email, (e) abstract and keywords, (f) introduction, (g) implementation method, (h) results and discussion, (i) conclusions, (j) references.
  7. The subtitles contained in (a) introduction, (b) method of implementation, (c) results and discussion, (d) conclusions, and (e) suggestions must be numbered sequentially starting from one. Subtitles are written in bold format. It uses left-aligned text with no underline. Subtitles expanded, then must be written in bold and sentence format. It must use left text alignment and second level number formatting.
  8. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian with standard language. Manuscripts must be written based on a template and written on custom paper with a size of 18 cm (width) 25 cm (height) with a margin of 2.5 cm (Top-Left-Bottom).
  9. The manuscript text uses the Arial Font style with a size of 12 pt for manuscript titles, 10 pt for abstracts, 11 pt for body paragraphs and 10 pt for table/image/graphic captions.
  10. Words from foreign languages or those declared foreign are typed in Italic format. Each paragraph is aligned left and right (justify), with 1 space and 1 space between paragraphs.
  11. Tables and figures are placed in the text group after the referenced table or figure. Each image must be labeled (captioned) below the image and numbered followed by the image title. Each table must be given a table title (Table Caption) and numbered above the table followed by the table title. Tables cannot contain vertical lines, while horizontal lines are only allowed for important points
  12. Attached images must be guaranteed to be printed with good quality (font size, resolution and clearly visible line spacing). Figures, tables and charts should be centered between groups of text. If the size is larger, it can be placed in the middle of the page.
